SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's soccer team battled St. Lawrence University to a 0-0 Liberty League tie Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. It was the fifth draw of the season for the Thoroughbreds who are 5-4-5 overall and 0-4-3 in league play. The Saints are 7-4-4 and 3-2-2.
 
** The cross bar foiled both teams or saved both teams, depending on perspective. SLU midfielder Mia Cence hit the cross bar on a restart from about 20 yards out in the 44^th minute. The ball dropped straight down to several players, but Skidmore goalie Claire Wolgast ignored the chaos in front of her and stuffed a point blank shot by Lily Stone to keep it 0-0 at the half.
** Skidmore had its cross bar moment in the 86^th minute when Molly Cunningham's shot hit the cross bar and came down on the goal line, where it was cleared away by the Saints.
** SLU had a slight 14-13 shot edge, while the Thoroughbreds had a 5-1 corner advantage.
** Wolgast finished with five saves for her first solo shutout of the season. Keely Snode had six saves for the Saints.
** The five ties equals the program record of five set in the 2008 season when the team went 13-4-5.
** Next up: The Thoroughbreds host Union College at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25.
