Tigers no match for Thoroughbreds

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's basketball team continued to build its post season resume with an impressive 69-42 Liberty League road win over RIT Friday night. The win moves the Thoroughbreds to 13-4 and 9-1 in league play. The Tigers fall to 5-12 and 3-7.
  • Sarah Chambers led a balanced Skidmore offense with 13 points and seven rebounds. Julia Blanck had a double/double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Madison Meyer added 10 points and four rebounds. Amelia Medolla had a season-high eight assists, two blocks and nine points.
  • Kaleesha Joseph was the lone RIT player in double figures with 10 points.
  • Skidmore built a 33-21 lead at the half and then extended the lead to 28 points, 59-31 after three quarters.
  • The Thoroughbred defense held the Tigers to just 26.2% shooting (16-61) and had a 51-34 rebound advantage.
  • The win completes the regular-season sweep for Skidmore. The Thoroughbreds beat the Tigers 47-42 on Jan. 7. It's the first season sweep of the Tigers since the 2016-17 season.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore heads back to the Capital District to play at Union. The Thoroughbreds beat the Dutchwomen 65-50 on Jan. 6.
