SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The Skidmore College volleyball team completed its opening weekend Saturday, losing 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-22) to Rivier and 3-1 (10-25, 26-24, 17-25, 11-25) to Springfield. The Thoroughbreds are 0-3 to start the season. Rivier is 2-1 and Springfield 3-0.
- Junior Jo Blanco earned all-tournament honors. She totaled 20 kills, 24 digs, and five blocks over the three matches.
- In the Rivier match, Blanco had a team-high eight kills and five digs. Noa Berger had 11 assists and six digs. Chelsea Winegar added six digs.
- Blanco and Winegar had nine digs each against Springfield. Blanco also had five kills and three digs. Grace Aronson added a team-high eight kills and four blocks. Rudy Reyes contributed a team-high three aces. Jazlin Chen had five blocks.
NEXT UP: The Skidmore Classic is next weekend. The Thoroughbreds will play Oneonta at 5 p.m. Friday and Williams (11 a.m.) and Morrisville (3 p.m.) on Saturday.
