Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Skidmore and New Paltz play to 1-1 draw

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's soccer team tied New Paltz on the road Saturday afternoon, 1-1.
 
  • Junior Kamal Ibrahim scored again for the Thoroughbreds. He now has scored five goals in five games this season.
  • Ibrahim scored exactly at the 12-minute mark with an assist from Brady Trenchard.
  • Skidmore (2-1-2) held onto the lead through the half, but New Paltz (3-2-2) netted the equalizer in the 77th minute.
  • Luca Giammarino scored the tying goal for the Hawks.
  • Shots finished 15-8 in the contest for New Paltz, but the hosts put just six shots on goal. Skidmore had four.
  • Ibrahim attributed for six of Skidmore's eight shot attempts and 3-of-4 shots on goal.
  • Senior goalie Bobby Stratts made five saves.
  • Christian Michelli made three second-half saves in the tie for the hosts.
  • The Thoroughbreds finished with a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Skidmore was called for 16 fouls while New Paltz had nine. Skidmore was shown six cautions. New Paltz received two yellow cards, both in the final 78 seconds of the contest.
