Offense clicks in 5-1 win over Ramapo

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— The Skidmore College men's soccer team upped its record to 3-1-2 with a 5-1 win over Ramapo College Wednesday night at Wachenheim Field. The Roadrunners are 0-4-1. The Thoroughbreds scored the game's first five goals before allowing a Ramapo goal with under four minutes to play.
  • Kamal Ibrahim led the way with two goals, giving him a team-high seven through six games. Despite being tightly marked, he headed home a long pass from Finn Weber at 19:43 for the game's first goal. His second goal came at 64:21 when beat two defenders and then the keeper for a 4-0 lead.
  • Ethan Kilmnick converted his second penalty of the season for the second goal.
  • Defender Perry Sofis-Scheft snuck up the left side from midfield and converted a long cross from Tobias Catizone for his first career goal at 50:42. Catizon scored his first collegiate goal from Ethan Slager for the final Skidmore goal at 67:03.
  • Shots were nine each. Bobby Stratts had four saves for the win.
  • The five goals were the most scored by the Thoroughbreds since a 6-0 win over Bard in 2018.
  • 25 players saw action for Skidmore.
