Thoroughbreds 7-2 winners at Union

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team defeated Union on the road, 7-2, on Friday.
 
  • The Thoroughbreds improve to 6-6 overall and 5-1 in the Liberty League.
  • Skidmore has won four consecutive matches since returning from its spring break trip.
  • Sergiu Celebidachi, John Rado, Zachary Portnoy, and Brendan Jimenez all won twice.
  • Celebidachi and Rado defeated Ben Jacobs and Aidan O'Brien at No. 1 doubles, 8-6. Celebidachi went on to win at third singles (6-2, 6-1), while Rado won at the second slot (6-1, 6-2).
  • The second doubles squad of Portnoy and Jimenez defeated Ioannis Binopoulos and Dimitris Binopoulos, 8-2. Portnoy also met Ioannis at No. 1 singles, and secured a 6-3, 6-2 win. Jimenez downed Dimitris (6-1, 6-0) at No. 4.
  • At fifth singles, Tristan Thiebaut was the victor over Ian Schunk, 7-5, 6-1.
