AMHERST, Mass.—The Skidmore College men's tennis team gave #18 Amherst a run for its money before losing a tight 5-4 match. The Thoroughbreds are 6-9, while Amherst is 7-6.

• Skidmore's number one doubles team of Sergiu Celebidachi and John Rado had an impressive 8-7 (7) win at number one doubles over Sujit Chepuri and Damien Ruparel to prevent an Amherst sweep.
• Zachary Portnoy was a 7-6 (3), 6-4 win at number one singles against Ruparel. John Rado won at number three and Brendan Jimenez won at number four to keep the match close.
• Skidmore plays Middlebury next on April 23 at Trinity College.
