FORT MYERS, Fla.—The Skidmore College softball team started its day with a 9-3 loss to Oneonta State, but bounced back for a 5-inning 10-2 win over Alfred State on Thursday.

The Thoroughbreds are an impressive 6-2 to open the season, while Oneonta is 5-4 and Alfred State 3-5.

GAME 1
- The Red Dragons opened a 4-0 lead before Skidmore responded with three runs in the bottom of the third. Megan White and Hannah Davis had RBI triples, while Meghan Robertson produced an RBI double to account for the runs.
- That would be it for the Thoroughbred offense. Oneonta kept Skidmore off the board for the final for innings, while scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings and three runs in the seventh.
- Davis was tagged for her first loss of the season on the mound.
- The game was the 23rd between the two New York schools, but the first since the 2004 season.

GAME 2
- Skidmore turned right around to face Alfred State for the second time this trip. The Thoroughbreds won the first match-up 10-8.This game wasn't as close with Skidmore putting up 10 runs on 15 hits to end the game in the fifth inning.
- The Thoroughbreds went up 9-0 before Alfred got on the board in the bottom of the fourth.
- White was 3-3 with a pair of RBI doubles and two runs. Davis went 2-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI and Robertson was 2-4 with an RBI triple, two stolen bases and a run. Kaitlyn Judd added two hits, two runs, and two RBI.
- Lindsey Raimondi earned the win. She went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits. She walked one and struck out six.
- The Thoroughbreds close out the trip on Friday with games against Canton and Central College.
