SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Skidmore College women's basketball team fell to visiting Ithaca College, 71-60, on Saturday for the Big Green Scream game and Senior Day. It is the 12th consecutive win for the Bombers.

Ithaca (17-3, 12-1 Liberty League) remains in second place and a half-game behind league-leading Vassar. Skidmore drops to 12-6 and 7-6 and currently sits in fourth place with five games to play. Skidmore honored its two seniors, Clare Driscoll and Toyin Koleoso, before the game.

Driscoll led Skidmore with 16 points and eight rebounds. Julia Blanck had a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds. Kate McCarney finished with 11 points and nine boards.

For the Bombers, Grace Cannon dropped 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting with three assists. Lindsey Albertelli scored 14, and Cara Volpe had 12. Megan Yawman added eight points and four steals.

The Bombers ripped off the first 10 points of the game over the first 2:21. Becca Horger scored the first five Thoroughbred points as Ithaca led by nine, 14-5, with 3:01 on the clock in the first period. Cassie Davidson made a pair of 3-pointers separated by 22 seconds, bringing Skidmore all the way back to within two. Emily Dorn laid in two layups in the final minute to put Ithaca up by six at the end of the first quarter.

The Thoroughbreds scored nine-consecutive points, highlighted by seven in-a-row from Andi Levitz, to give Skidmore its first lead of the game, 26-23, midway through the second quarter. The Thoroughbreds used a 7-0 run to close the half to lead by four at the break.

Canon scored five in succession for the Bombers to take back the lead in the third quarter and Ithaca's advantage was at four to end the third quarter. The Bombers held command by scoring the first six points of the fourth quarter to lead by 10. Driscoll's layup with 5:23 remaining slimmed Skidmore's deficit to five, the smallest it got to in the fourth quarter. The Bombers put it away in the final minutes with free throws.

Skidmore will travel to Union on Tuesday, Feb. 8 for a 5:30 p.m. matchup with the Dutchwomen.
