Per Hobart and William Smith Colleges, all spectators, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear masks covering the nose and mouth in indoor public spaces at HWS.

MATCHUP:
  • This marks the third meeting between the teams this year.
    • Hobart has won both games by one goal.
  • Statesmen defeated the Thoroughbreds in overtime (4-3) in Saratoga Springs in early December.
  • Hobart scored five unanswered after falling behind early to beat Skidmore in Geneva on Feb. 5.
  • Last week, Skidmore won its first postseason game since 2012 with a 5-3 victory over third-seeded UMass Boston.
  • Hobart took care of business against Southern Maine, 5-2, in its quarterfinal.
    • Zach Tyson had two goals and one assist.
    • Gagik Malakyan, Aaron Maguyon and Artem Buzoverya all had two assists in the victory. 
    • Liam Lascelle played all 60 minutes in goal for the Statesmen, making 22 saves.
  • The Thoroughbreds are led in scoring by Kaeden Patrick (11g, 11a), Austin Rook (8g, 14a), Everett Wardle (9g, 12a), Mike Gelatt (9g, 11a).
  • Luke Aquaro (14g, 16a), Maguyon (14g, 14a), and Tyson (9g, 17a) lead the Statesmen in scoring.
 
SERIES:
  • Hobart has the upper hand in the all-time series 15-3-1.
  • Statesmen ahead 7-1 since joining the NEHC in 2017.
  • Skidmore's last victory against Hobart came on Jan. 18, 2019 (3-2).
  • This marks the second meeting between the programs in the playoffs. Hobart defeated Skidmore, 4-2, in a 2020 quarterfinal matchup.
 
 
NEXT:
  • The winner will advance to the NEHC Championship game next Saturday, March 5.
  • Skidmore will travel to either #2 Elmira or #4 Babson with a win in the semifinal.
  • Hobart will host the title game should it win.
  • Hobart, ranked fifth in the USCHO Poll, will be a candidate for an at-large berth if it does not capture the conference championship.
