Thoroughbreds ride hot start to road win at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team won its fourth straight, 67-57, on the road at Wesleyan on Wednesday.
 
  • Skidmore got off to a thunderous start and led by 15 at the half. The Thoroughbreds held to hosts to under 10 points in each of the first two periods.
  • Wesleyan outscored Skidmore in both second-half quarters, but the big advantage remained insurmountable.
  • Cassie Davidson had 17 points to lead the way for the Thoroughbreds. She also registered four assists while shooting 8-of-12 from the field.
  • Kate McCarney had 16 points; 10 of which from the free-throw line.
  • Andi Levitz dropped 11 points.
  • Emmy Plage tallied a game high 11 rebounds with five points and a pair of steals.
  • Becca Horger registered four steals to lead all players. She also had four assists.
  • Alana Jones had 18 points and seven assists to lead Wesleyan. Tori DaCosta had a double-double consisting of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Skidmore finished with a 17-9 edge in points off turnovers and scored 32 bench points while the Cardinals had 13.
