Elmira overtakes Skidmore 4-1

PINE VALLEY, N.Y.—The Skidmore College lost a 4-1 New England Hockey Conference game to Elmira College Friday night. The loss snaps a four-game unbeaten streak for the #15 Thoroughbreds (8-3-1, 2-2-1 NEHC). The Soaring Eagles are 6-4 and 4-1 NEHC.
  • Elmira accounted for the lone goals of the first and second periods to lead 2-0 after two. Nicholas Domitrovic scored at 16:09 of the first and Larry Niland scored at 15:07 of the second.
  • Connor Wood put Skidmore on the board with second goal of the season at 1:30 of the third from Everett Wardle and Danny Magnuson. The Thoroughbreds pressured Elmira late in the third, but couldn't even the score. The Soaring Eagles added a pair of empty net goals for the 4-1 final.
  • Elmira poured 40 shots on goal to 22 for the Thoroughbreds. Blaine Moore kept Skidmore in the game with 36 saves on 38 shots. He had 29 saves over the first 40 minutes.
