Thoroughbreds top Williams, 70-56

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team returned to the court after a 13-day layoff with a 70-56 victory over visiting Williams College on Tuesday.
 
  • Julia Blanck led the way for Skidmore with a double-double. She had 19 points, 20 rebounds, and four blocks. She was 9-of-15 (60 percent) from the field and collected 10 offensive boards.
  • Andi Levitz dropped 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from long range.
  • Madison Meyer had 10 points, four assists, and four rebounds.
  • Skidmore dominated the glass, closing out with a 52-28 edge in rebounds, and a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds.
  • Sarah Chambers pitched in with eight points and six rebounds for the Thoroughbreds.
  • Arianna Gerig had 16 points to lead Williams (4-2), and Mia Holtze had 15.
  • Skidmore allowed just 19 points in the first half to take a double-digit lead into the break.
  • The Thoroughbreds led by as much as 23 in the fourth quarter before the Ephs closed it out on an 18-9 run.
  • Skidmore took advantage of 31 points off the bench against zero for the guests.
  • The Thoroughbreds also rode away with a 24-6 edge in second-chance points.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore (2-1) will open its league schedule this weekend on the road at Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
