SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's basketball dropped an 87-79 decision to visiting Plattsburgh State on Tuesday night at home.
- Skidmore enters its Thanksgiving break at 2-2. The Cardinals are 3-2.
- Riley Greene had a double-double for Skidmore. He had 20 points and 12 assists with seven rebounds.
- Tautvydas Kupstas led all players in scoring with 27 points.
- Mark Engel scored 13, had three steals, and pulled down five boards.
- Kevin Tabb led the way for Plattsburgh with 25 points thanks in large part to a perfect 11-for-11 line at the free-throw line.
- Plattsburgh went 19-for-20 at the charity stripe. Skidmore was 19-for-21.
- Willard Anderson Jr. scored 20 for the Cardinals.
- It was all Skidmore early, as a Harrison Eichelberger layup 5:02 into the contest put the Thoroughbreds ahead 13-0.
- Plattsburgh answered promptly with a 14-2 run of its own to pull to within one.
- The Cardinals grabbed the lead, 23-21, with 7:52 remaining in the half, and held onto it for the rest of the game.
- Skidmore trimmed its deficit to one point on three occasions in the second half: 67-66, 69-68, 71-70. Each time, Plattsburgh was able to extend its lead; twice with the help of offensive rebounds and the other on Erik Salo made free throws.
- Salo had six points and a game-high 14 rebounds for the visitors.
- Down by five, Eichelberger got a steal with 42 seconds remaining, but Plattsburgh forced a quick turnover and closed it out by making all five free throws in closing time.
- NEXT UP: Skidmore will host SUNY Poly on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. before jumping back into league play.

We need to get back to work and figure out how we can weather the storm without our big guys. We need guys to step up and we need to get tougher and nastier as a group if we want achieve the success we are capable of. We will figure it out."
