Swimmers continue to roll with clean sweep of New Paltz and Bard

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's and women's swim teams each earned two home wins Saturday with convincing results over New Paltz and Bard. The men remained unbeaten at 7-0 with a 121-84 win over New Paltz and a 165-14 win against Bard. The women are 6-1, beating New Paltz 153-52 and Bard 178-25.
  • Rachel Olson and Lizzie Day each won two individual events and were on the winning 200 medley relay with Ella Palmet and Gretchen Gwitt. Olson took first in the 400IM (4:54.90) and 100 breast (1:11.93). Day won the 50 free(25.42) and 100 free (55.74).
  • Gwitt was first in the 100 fly (1:01.48).
  • Caroline Rogers won the 500 free (5:35.05) and was on the winning 200 free relay with Lydia Walker, Chloe Kim and Elissa Miller.
  • Kim took first in the 200 free (2:06.31) and Molly Jordan won the 1000 free (12:05.05).
  • Ryan Delfico and Nic Sodi won two individual events and were part of winning relays. Delfico was first in the 100 free (50.08) and 100 breast (1:01.95) and on the winning 200 medley relay with Liam Keating, Brendan Lu and Gavin Schiavi). Sodi was first in the 1000 free (10:16.44) and 100 back (55.2) and won the 200 free relay with Keating, Will Quinn, and Schiavi.
  • Schiavi was first in the 50 free (22.77) and Brendan Lu won the 400 IM (4:27.73).
  • NEXT UP: The Thoroughbreds will compete in the RIT Don Richards Invitational on Dec. 2-3.
