Thoroughbreds falter at Sage

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team fell to Russell Sage College, 87-77, on Wednesday on the road.
 
  • Sarah Chambers led the way for the Thoroughbreds with 18 points and seven rebounds. She went 7-of-8 from the field.
  • Emmy Plage had 11 points and seven rebounds.
  • Amelia Medolla scored 13 off the bench for Skidmore, and Madison Meyer had 10.
  • Sage scored 30 points from the free-throw line and shot 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from beyond the arc.
  • A trio of Gators scored 19 points apiece: Sammy Pasinella, Lauren Sanderson, Syrita Faraj. Faraj had a double-double with 12 rebounds. Giuliana Pritchard also recorded a double-double for Sage on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Skidmore had a 44-26 edge in paint points and 35-18 advantage in points off the bench, while Sage scored 32 points off turnovers to 15 for the Thoroughbreds.
  • The Thoroughbreds only led in the first quarter before seeing it spun to a four-point deficit when the Gator's scored the period's last nine points.
  • Skidmore had a big third quarter to trim a 16-point halftime margin to seven into the final 10 minutes.
  • The Thoroughbreds got it to within four points in the fourth quarter, and nearly down to three with 1:32 remaining when Plage was called for an offensive foul.
  • Sage iced the game by hitting each of its final seven free throws in the final minute.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore will host Williams College on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Williamson Sports Center.
