Skidmore wins regular season finale at Bard 2-0 to secure #3 seed

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team will host a Liberty League Tournament game for the first time since 2013 after a 2-0 victory at Bard on Saturday to close the regular season.
 
  • The Thoroughbreds finish with a league record of 5-1-3 for 18 points and the third spot on the table. Skidmore improves to 10-2-3 overall.  
  • Skidmore will host the six seed, Clarkson, on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. at Wachenheim Field for a Liberty League Quarterfinal. The winner goes to Ithaca for semifinal game on Friday, Nov. 4.
  • Kat Dunn and Madison Hallet were the goal scorers for Skidmore.
  • Riley Vavolizza and Emily Vinick had assists.
  • Dunn directed in a header on a hard cross from Vavolizza to put the Thoroughbreds ahead early in the seventh minute.
  • Hallet flicked one in off a Vinick corner kick to make it 2-0 at 77:31.
  • Skidmore dominated possession and finished with a 28-6 edge in shots. Shots on goal were 12-4.
  • Claire Wolgast had her sixth shutout with four saves.
  • Sam Finn had 10 saves for Bard (3-13-1, 0-9 Liberty League).
  • Skidmore had 11 corner kicks and surrendered just one to the Raptors.
  • Skidmore is 12-0 all-time against Bard.
