SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's volleyball team took 6-of-7 sets to sweep MCLA in a home doubleheader on Saturday. The Thoroughbreds captured the first match in four sets (25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18) before winning in straight sets (25-18, 25-11, 26-24) in match two.

Skidmore 3, MCLA 1
- Chelsea Winegar led Skidmore (4-10)Â with 15 kills and 11 digs.
- Carolyn Scott had 12 kills.
- Sophie Sacco finished with eight kills and a season-high seven blocks.
- Noa Berger had 22 assists and a match-high three service aces.
- Audrey Powell collected 23 assists and five blocks, including one solo block.
- Jo Blanco had eight kills and a match-high 21 digs. Elizabeth Miller tallied 15 digs.
- The teams split the first two sets by the minimum two points. Skidmore took command in the third game after bouncing back from a 6-1 MCLAÂ (9-5) run in the middle of the frame with a 6-1 run of its own launched by a Sacco/Blanco combined block.
- The Thoroughbreds expanded a three-point mid-set lead in the fourth on seven consecutive points on the Berger serve to clinch it.

Skidmore 3, MCLA 0
- Winegar finished the afternoon with 27 kills on 12 in the second contest to lead all players. She also collected nine digs.
- Nine different players put down kills for the Thoroughbreds.
- Jazlin Chen put down seven kills.
- Sacco had five kills on just seven attempts with no errors to finish with a .714 swing percentage.
- Grace Aronson had six kills and a pair of digs.
- Miller contributed with 17 more digs.
- The Thoroughbreds face set point, 24-23, when Winegar evened It up with a kill. A Trailblazer attack error followed by a Maya Stolarz kill put the finishing touches on the sweep.
