Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Thoroughbreds knock off RPI 1-0

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Kat Dunn's goal in the 74th minute was all the offense the Skidmore College women's soccer team needed in a 1-0 Liberty League win over Rensselaer Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds are 6-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the Liberty League. The Engineers drop to 3-4-2 and 1-1-1.

  • Dunn took a pass from Paige Karl than maneuvered past a defender, rifling a goal past RPI goalie Megan Wampner. It was Karl's fourth goal of the season.
  • The Thoroughbreds had a 15-5 shot advantage. Claire Wolgast stopped four shots for her third shutout of the year. She has allowed only one goal in seven games for a 0.17 goals against average.
  • The win extends the team's unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1) and has the team tied for first in the Liberty League standings. Skidmore and William Smith are the only unbeaten teams left in league play.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore hosts Harwick on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. in a nonleague game.
