Thoroughbreds blank Hawks, 2-0

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Goals by Ella Stone and Maddison Hallet lifted the Skidmore College women's soccer team to a 2-0 non-league win over Hartwick Wednesday evening.

  • It was the first goal of the year for both Skidmore goal-scorers, and the first collegiate goal for Hallet, who added insurance in the late stages of the first half.
  • Stone opened the scoring at the 8:43 mark from Kyra Russman-Araya on a blast from well beyond the box.
  • Hallet doubled the lead with 4:25 remaining in the first half from short range. Mikayla Dorrer played the ball ahead to Paige Karl, who sent a one-touch pass across to the foot of Hallet just outside the Hartwick six-yard box. Dorrer and Karl both received assists.

  • Lauren Morrissey earned the shutout in goal for the Thoroughbreds.
