MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Following a weekend road sweep for the Skidmore College men's hockey team with wins over New England College and Norwich,
Tate Brandon was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Goaltender of the Week, and
Mike Gelatt earned Player of the Week honors.

Brandon set a Skidmore single-season record by recording his fourth shutout of the season in Saturday's 3-0 win at nationally 11th-ranked Norwich. He made 26 saves. On Friday, he also had 26 stops in Skidmore's 5-2 victory over New England College. Brandon stopped 52-of-54 (.963) shots that he saw over the weekend.

Brandon has won his last three starts with two shutouts and has an 8-6-1 overall record. He ranks third in the NEHC in both goals-against average (2.05) and save percentage (.928).

Gelatt had three goals and an assist to lead Skidmore offensively over the weekend. He scored twice and had an assist to lead the Thoroughbreds in victory at NEC on Friday. He went on to ice Saturday's contest at Norwich with a long-range empty-net goal late in the third period. Gelatt also turned in a +3 rating with six shots and a power-play goal.

Gelatt is on a five-game point streak, consisting of five goals and three assists. On the season, Gelatt has scored seven goals and has five assists for 12 points to match his career high.

The Thoroughbreds are on a five-game winning streak, where they have outscored opponents 20-3. Skidmore will host #5 Babson and Southern Maine Jan. 28 and 29. Attendance is limited to only Skidmore Community members wearing KN95 masks.
