TROY, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's basketball team led from start to finish in a 62-43 Liberty League win at Rensselaer Sunday afternoon.

The win evens the Thoroughbreds league record at 4-4, while the overall record bumps to 9-4. The Engineers are 3-10 and 2-6 in league play.

Kate McCarney's 14 points led the way for Skidmore.
Julia Blanck picked-up her fifth double/double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She went 11-12 from the line. Emily Plage added eight points and five rebounds.

Ashlyn O'Neil scored 13 and Erin Doyle 11 for RPI.

Skidmore opened the game with seven straight points and didn't allow an Engineer field goal until the 3:55 mark, finishing the quarter with a 19-8 lead. The Thoroughbred defense continued to frustrate the opponents in the second quarter, allowing only three field goals to extend the lead to 28-16 at the half.

It was more of the same in the second half, with the Thoroughbreds maintaining a double digit lead the rest of the way.

Skidmore's defense held RPI to 25.8% from the floor on 16-62 shooting.

Next up for the Thoroughbreds is a Jan. 28 home game against RIT at 5:30. The game is only open to Skidmore Community members with ID and KN95 masks.
