GENEVA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's basketball team shook off a disappointing double OT loss on Saturday to beat William Smith 65-52 Tuesday night.

The win snaps a brief two-game losing streak for the Thoroughbreds who are 7-2 and 2-2 in Liberty League play. The Herons are 3-8 and 2-3.

Skidmore's
Julia Blanck turned in her fourth double/double of the season with 16 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and three blocks.
Clare Driscoll added 15 points and five blocks.
Maddie Hastings contributed seven assists, four steals and four points, while
Kate McCarney scored eight points.

Brooke Jarvis led William Smith with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

Skidmore stifled the Herons defensively, scoring 20 points off of 21 turnovers.

The Thoroughbreds played from the lead most of the game, moving ahead for good, with 9:11 to play in the second quarter on Driscoll's jumper that made it 18-16.

Skidmore led by as many as 24 in the fourth quarter, before the Heron starters chipped away at the lead over the final few minutes of the game for the 65-52 final.

The Thoroughbreds return home for the first time in 2022 on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Vassar.
