CANTON, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team controlled play from start to finish on the way to a 2-0 Liberty League win at St. Lawrence University.

The Thoroughbreds are 5-3 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Saints are 5-3 and 0-1.

Skidmore outshot SLU 13-0 in the first half, but couldn't get one past Saint goalie Cara Vredenburg who had 10 saves.

Sofia Marshall broke through with a goal at 34:19 for a 1-0 lead.
CC Wetter added the insurance just before the final horn at 59:56 off a corner from
Carrie Hughes and
Carolyn Blackman.

Skidmore had a 28-2 shot and 17-1 corner advantage.
Victoria Bodnar did not have to make a save for the shutout win. Lucy Adiutori played the second half for SLU and had 11 saves.

The Thoroughbreds host the nation's number top team, Middlebury College on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
