WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Skidmore College men's soccer team won on the road for the fifth time this season with a 1-0 victory at WPI.
Â
All of the Thoroughbred wins have come on the road for the 5-1 Thoroughbreds. The Engineers are 3-2-1.
Â
The contest played even. The difference was a goal in the 11th minute by Skidmore'sÂ
Rory Millar. Millar took a thru ball from teammate Finn Webber and slotted to the opposite side of WPI keeper Roe Hendrick for his first goal of the year.
Â
Hendrick made three stops in his first start of the season, as did Skidmore keeperÂ
Bobby Stratts, who earned the shutout and improved to 5-1.
Â
Saves were 3-3 in the game, while shots were 10-10. Fouls were nearly identical as well, though Skidmore had a 6-2 edge on corner kicks.
Â
The Thoroughbreds hit the road again for a Sept. 22 at Ramapo College.
