POTSDAM, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team closed out its season with a 14-9 Liberty League loss at Clarkson.

The Thoroughbreds finish 1-5 overall and 0-5 in league play. The Golden Knights end their season at 4-8 and 2-4.

Skidmore took a 3-1 lead after the first quarter on goals from
Charlie McFadden,
Ryan Madalone and
Gregory Ross.
Jason Shlonsky made it 4-1 to open the second quarter. Clarkson scored six of the next eight goals to take a 7-6 lead into the break.

Two early third quarter goals put the Golden Knights in front by three, 9-6. McFadden scored a pair to cut it to one 9-8, but Clarkson kept the Thoroughbreds off the board until a McFadden goal with 1:52 to play for the 14-9 final.

McFadden finished with four goals. Shlonsky had two goals and two assists, while
John Sveen had five ground balls.

Christopher Downey had 17 saves over the first 48:04.
Avery Stamps stopped two shots over the final 11:56.
