GENEVA, N.Y.— The Skidmore College women's tennis team beat William Smith 6-3 to move its Liberty League win streak to 35 matches.
Â
The Thoroughbreds are 2-0 overall and in league play, while the Herons are 0-3 and 0-2.
Â
Lily Feldman and
Katherine Almquist posted an 8-2 win at number two doubles. Feldman came back for a 6-3, 6-1 win at number two singles, while Almquist won 6-4, 6-0 at number six singles.
Â
"William Smith always competes very well so this was a good test for us playing short-handed again," said Skidmore coach
Curt Speerschneider. "We showed very good resolve especially dropping one of the doubles so going into singles down 1-3. We know nothing this season is easy so there's a lot of character building going on. We'll just keeping building and looking forward to the next match."
