SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team finished its abbreviated 2021 schedule with 21-16 loss to St. Lawrence University.

The Thoroughbreds were 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the Liberty League. The Saints head to the Liberty League tournament with a 4-3 overall and 3-3 league record.

It was Senior Day for Thoroughbred standouts
Emily Hirsch,
Grace Connerty and
Lilly Kishore. The game began with a prearranged goal by Hirsch, a two-time Liberty League All-Star, who missed the 2021 season with a career-ending injury.

The Saints worked their way to a 13-9 lead at the half. Skidmore got to within two 15-13 on consecutive goals by
Madelyn Marr (19:23) and
Amelia Bassett (16:29). St. Lawrence scored the next five break the game open 20-13.

Marr had three goals and four assists for a team-high seven points. Bassett,
Gabriella Modesti, and Avert Geddes scored three goals each. Connerty had two goals, an assist and five draw controls, while
Becca Leopold contributed four assists.
Ella Harris had a team-high six draw controls.

Isabel Silvia led St. Lawrence with five goals and three assists. Rachel Burke had four goals and three assists and Charlotte Powell had four goals and an assist.

SLU had a 38-30 shot advantage.

Phoebe Beshlian had 11 saves over the first 46:05, while
Cate Spaulding had three saves over the final 13:55 for Skidmore.
