SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—The Skidmore College softball team opened its season with a pair of Liberty League losses at Union College Saturday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds (0-2, 0-2 Liberty) dropped the first game 7-5 and the second 8-3. The teams are scheduled to complete the weekend series at Skidmore on Sunday at 1 p.m.

GAME 1
Â
Kaitlyn Judd keyed a five-run Skidmore first inning with a three-run homer.
Dana Ragen closed out the inning with a two-run single. The Dutchwomen battled back with three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth for the 7-5 win.

Kate Wilkie was 3-4 and
Katie Anderson was 3-3 with a double.
Hannah Davis took the loss. She allowed seven runs (four earned) on 10 hits. She struck out six and walked four.

GAME 2
Â
Union used a five-run fourth to open up an 8-1 lead on the way to the 8-3 win. Wilkie completed a big day at the plate, going 3-4 with two doubles and two runs. Judd had a two-run double and
Delaney Corbet was 2-3.

Only two of Union's runs were earned.
Lindsey Raimondi allowed six hits, with six strikeouts and five walks.
