Tate Brandon stopped all 25 shots he faced to lead the Skidmore College hockey team to a 1-0 win over Connecticut College in the 15
th Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational championship game Sunday evening at the Saratoga Springs City Rink.

It was the second consecutive and the fourth overall tournament title for the Thoroughbreds.

Skidmore improves to 4-3-1, while the Camels are 1-3.

Brockport (6-3) beat Chatham (1-5-2) 7-1 in the consolation game.

Offensive opportunities were at a premium throughout the game, with both defenses limiting chances.

The goal came right after Skidmore had a 2-on-1 broken by the Conn College defense. The puck worked its way out of the in-front-scramble to Dow-Kenny who moved in from the point to one-time the puck past Camel goalie Michael McHale from 31 feet out at 14:49.
Zach Frisk and
Kevin Urquhart were credited with the assists.

It was Dow-Kenny's second goal of the season and second of the weekend, after scoring in Saturday's 4-3 win over Chatham.

Shots were 25-25. Brandon's 25 saves resulted in his first career shutout. McHale finished with 24 saves.

The All-Tournament team was dominated by defensemen, led by Skidmore senior blue-liner
Reid Russell who's play earned him MVP recognition.
