FINAL RESULTS
GENEVA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's tennis team took home the ITA Northeast doubles and singles titles Sunday afternoon at Hobart College.
The winners and doubles runner-up qualify for the ITA Cup national championships being played Oct. 14-17 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.
Freshman
John Rado won the singles title, while
Alper Kulturel and
Noah Williamson took home the doubles championship, defeating teammates
Brendan Jimenez and
Zachary Portnoy.
Rado defeated Emilio Van Cotthem of RPI 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) in the semifinals and RPI's Yudai Teruyama 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 in the championship match.
Kulturel and Williamson won the battle of the Thoroughbreds 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 over Jimenez and Portnoy. Both teams move on to the ITA Cup.
With the wins, Rado, Kulturel and Williamson are automatic All-Americans for the 2021-22 season.
