Carrie Hughes scored two goals and
Jess Gaetgens had two saves for the shutout to lead the Skidmore College field hockey team to a 3-0 Liberty League win over Union College Friday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds are 8-9 overall and 2-4 in league play, while the Dutchwomen drop to 6-9 and 1-5. It was Skidmore's 27
th straight win over Union, a streak dating back to 1997.

Hughes tipped in a long pass from
Lauren Ruggiero at 9:01 for a 1-0 lead.
Carolyn Blackman upped it to 2-0 at 21:09 from
CC Wetter. Hughes tallied her seventh of the season from
Sofia Marshall at 31:12.

Skidmore outshot the hosts 21-4 and had an 11-2 corner advantage.

The Thoroughbreds close out their Liberty League schedule at home on Sunday at 3 p.m. against Ithaca.
