SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team got off to a strong start, but a fourth quarter surge by Ithaca earned the Bombers a 57-45 Liberty League win Saturday afternoon at the Williamson Center.

The Thoroughbreds move to 4-15 and 2-10 in conference play, while Ithaca is to 12-6 and 9-2.

Jessica Centore led Skidmore with 14 points, six rebounds, four steals and one block.
Clare Driscoll contributed 12 points, four rebounds and two blocks.

KellyAnne O'Reilly scored 20 points alongside three steals. Cassidy O'Malley had 12 points and four rebounds. Grace Cannon led with nine rebounds.

A good three pointer by
Kate McCarney followed by a jumper by Centore put Skidmore up 7-4 in the first six minutes of the game. At the start of the second quarter the Thoroughbreds went on a 6-0 scoring run after two steals from Centore. From that point on Skidmore was able to maintain a sold lead going up by as much as eight, 26-18 with 1:37 left in the half. A late three pointer by O'Malley with 43 seconds left cut the Thoroughbreds lead to 26-21 going into the half.

Coming out of the break the Bombers were able to battle back and quickly took a 37-33 lead after three made three pointers by O'Reilly. Skidmore could not recover as the Bombers extended their lead in the fourth quarter and ultimately secured the 57-45 victory.

The Thoroughbreds travel to Union College on Feb 7 for a 5:30 p.m. Liberty League contest.
