SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team picked apart Bard College in a 65-49 Liberty League victory Friday evening at the Williamson Center.

The Thoroughbreds improve to 3-13, 1-8 in the Liberty League, while the Raptors drop to 5-11, 0-9 against league opponents.

Lilly Berg led the charge for Skidmore, finishing with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Jessica Centore scored 10 points on top of nine assists and one steal.
Clare Driscoll led in the paint, pulling down nine rebounds.
Kate McCarney contributed eight assists and six points.

Olivia Couture led Bard with 20 points. Skidmore's defense stifled league scoring leader Christina Kiser. Averaging 22.5 point a game, Kiser was held to just four free throws in the first half, finishing the game with 14 points.

Skidmore led from start to finish, opening the game with an 8-0 scoring run as Berg hit the first good jumper of the game 43 seconds in. Berg led the way in the run scoring two layups along with the jumper. The Raptors missed their first 13 shot attempts and didn't manage to break the ice until a foul by Berg gave them their first scoring opportunity with 3:10 remaining in the quarter. The Raptors could not find any answers against Skidmore's defense and shot 1-16 (6.3%) from the field in the first quarter. Skidmore continued to dominate in the second quarter, outscoring the Raptors 23-12 and going into the half with a 33-16 lead.

Coming out of the half Couture scored two quick three pointers to bring the lead down to 18. The Thoroughbreds quickly answered with a six-point run as
Kate McCarney hooked in a layup. After a few made baskets by Bard, the Thoroughbreds went on a 10-0 run with 4:09 remaining in the third quarter to break the game open.

The Thoroughbreds look to continue their winning ways Saturday in a Liberty League match against the Dutchwomen of Union College at 2 p.m. at the Williamson Center.
