SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team rallied in the third quarter, but Vassar countered with a fourth quarter run of its own for a 74-56 win over the Thoroughbreds at the Williamson Center Tuesday night.

The Thoroughbreds are 2-13 overall and 0-8 in Liberty League, while the Brewers improve to 10-5, 6-2.

Jessica Centore led Skidmore with 17 points, three steals and three rebounds.
Maddie Hastings had eight rebounds and
Clare Driscoll added 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Brewers were led by Sophie Nick's double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Ryan DeOrio scored 14 points.

Driscoll beat the shot clock with a 35-foot jumper with two minutes to play in the first half, setting the stage for the third quarter rally.

Down 32-24 to start the third, the Thoroughbreds came out swinging to start with an 11-1 run to take their first lead of the game. Â
Lilly Berg contributed six of the 11 points in the run. Back to back jumpers by Berg and
Kate McCarney put Skidmore up 35-34 with 4:39 remaining in the quarter. The rest of the quarter was a battle back and forth and finished with the Brewers up 45-41 going into the final quarter.

The Brewers went on an 12-2 scoring run of their own early in the fourth quarter to open a 57-45 lead on the way to the 74-56 win. Â

The Thoroughbreds return to Liberty League action at home Friday against Bard College at 5:30 p.m.
