SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— The Skidmore College women's tennis team took advantage of its entire roster in a pair of 9-0 Liberty League wins Saturday in Schenectady and Saratoga.
The Thoroughbreds opened the day with a 9-0 win at Union and came back for the afternoon home 9-0 win over Bard.
Skidmore (3-0) extends its Liberty League win streak to 33. The Thoroughbreds wrap the fall season Oct. 11-12 at the Bowdoin Invitational. Union is 1-1 overall and in league play, while the Raptors are 4-2 and 0-2.
Against Union,
Risa Fukushige won 6-3, 6-3 at number one singles against Tal Pezzuco. She combined with
Chanhtel Thongphok for an 8-3 win at number one doubles. Maya Lai won 6-1, 6-2 at number two singles over Megan Brown 8-3 at number two doubles with
Jessica Ampel.
The Bard match featured a line-up shuffle for Skidmore with
Lily Feldman moving up the number one slot and beating Katie Esposito 6-1, 6-0. Feldman and
Audrey SooHoo won 8-1 at number one doubles.
