SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Hobart College broke open a 0-0 game with three second-half goals for a 3-0 Liberty League men's soccer win Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 4-2-2 overall and 0-2 in league play, while the front running Statesmen are 8-2 and 2-0.

Skdmore had a few chances in the first half, including one in the 40
th minute when
Alex Ricci attacked from the right side. His shot appeared headed for the far corner of the net, but diving Hobart keeper Brian Salazar got a piece of it to send the ball wide and keep the score 0-0 into the break.

The Statesmen struck early in the second half, taking a 1-0 lead when Pete Critchlow found the far corner from the right side at 47:56. Salazar preserved the lead with another diving save to deny a Skidmore penalty at 48:54.

Juan Widoycovich's header made it 2-0 at 58:56 and Ben Orr scored an insurance goal at 80:02 for the 3-0 final.

Hobart outshot Skidmore 13-12, but the Thoroughbreds held an 8-2 corner advantage.

Sebastian Bosch had six saves in goal for Skidmore, while Salazar finished with eight saves for the Statesmen.

The Thoroughbreds host Clarkson on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
