PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's soccer team made its road debut a successful one, defeating Plattsburgh State by a 2-0 score, at the Field House Complex Saturday evening.
Skidmore gets back into the win column after a pair of ties, remaining unbeaten with a 4-0-2 record. Plattsburgh falls to 2-4.
Skidmore had no trouble scoring in its first road contest of the season, as
Stanley Langyintuo continued his hot start, tallying a goal in the fourth minute. He has scored an impressive seven goals in five contests. The Thoroughbreds kept up the pressure throughout, but the Cardinals held strong, as Skidmore took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Braman doubled the score for the Thoroughbreds in the 52
nd minute, his third on the season. From there, it was all defense as
Sebastian Bosch and the Skidmore back line held strong for the shutout. Bosch needed just a pair of saves for his fourth win and third clean sheet.
Skidmore edged Plattsburgh on shots by a 13-9 margin. Both teams earned five corners.
The Thoroughbreds will begin Liberty League action next Friday, visiting Union in Schenectady at 7 p.m.
