GAME ONE

GAME TWO
Union once again pulled ahead, scoring runs in the second, third, sixth, and eighth innings to take a 6-0 lead. With its season in the balance, Skidmore fought back in the bottom of the eighth inning. After
Ryan Strickland reached on an error, Will Snyder and
Justin LaRose reached base, before Geiger brought Strickland home with an RBI single through the left side. Potter was hit with the bases loaded to bring in another run, and Chipkin recorded a one-out sacrifice fly to cut the deficit in half, 6-3.
After
Jake Hardy was hit to load the bases,
Andrew Knight made the most of his game-two start, hitting a two-RBI single to cut the deficit to 6-5. In the ninth, pinch-hitter
Briston Maynard reached on a Dutchmen error, and the Thoroughbreds had a runner in scoring position. Union reliever Steve Acquario came in with one out in the ninth, forcing Geiger and Potter to fly out to end the threat.
