SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team got off to a slow start in its season finale, succumbing to Vassar by a 9-3 score Wednesday night, in Liberty League action at Wachenheim Field.
Skidmore (4-11, 1-7 Liberty League) and Vassar (4-11, 2-6) both finished the season at 4-11.
Before the contest, Skidmore honored its seven-man senior class of 2019 – goalie

During the game, it was the Brewers that jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Vassar added another to begin the second, before
Garrett Munck got Skidmore on the board with his goal at the 10:01 mark. Vassar added two more as the Brewers held an 8-1 lead at the half.
Skidmore kept Vassar off the board for most of the second half, and got closer with an early goal by
Hudson Miller. Miller beat the shot clock, getting past the Vassar goalie with a shot that bounced off the turf and into net. Skidmore scored its third goal midway through the fourth, as Megnia tallied his 73
rd and final goal of his career. The Thoroughbreds could get no closer, and Vassar tallied a late goal to wrap the scoring.
Munck, Megnia, and Miller scored for the Thoroughbreds.
Jason Shlonsky tallied a pair of assists.
Bryce Soucy caused a pair of Vassar turnovers to lead the Skidmore defense. Rahill finished his career with nine saves, bringing his season total to a school-record 216. He also picked up five ground balls.
Michael Mullen led Vassar with five goals and one assist for six points. James Thomas added a goal and two assists for three points. Erik Mikelinich made four saves in the first half, picking up the win. Matt Boyd finished the game in relief, recording 10 saves.
Both teams recorded 33 shots, with Vassar tallying an 18-17 edge in shots on goal. Vassar went 14-of-16 at the faceoff 'X'. Skidmore went 20-for-23 on clear opportunities, while the Brewers went 18-for-25.
