AMHERST, Mass. – The 17
th-ranked Skidmore College women's tennis team dropped its second consecutive match, falling 8-1 to No. 7 Amherst at the Amherst Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore falls to 9-5 on the season, while Amherst improves to 8-2.
Skidmore's lone point came in singles action.
Lily Feldman continued her solid run, winning her 11
th match out of 12, defeating Anya Ivenitsky 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4.
Dea Koiava and
Renee Karchere-Sun both took their opponents to three sets, before falling at No. 2 and three, respectively. Skidmore also had a close call at No. 1 doubles, as the team of
Risa Fukushige and Karchere-Sun fell to Amherst's Jackie Bukzin and Kelsey Chen, 8-7.
Skidmore will look to bounce back on Sunday, hosting Ithaca at the Wenger Courts at 10 a.m.
