SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— Endicott College held Skidmore scoreless in the second and third quarters in an 11-4 nonleague win Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 1-3, while the Gulls move to 1-2.
 
Eric Megnia led Skidmore with two goals. 
Ward Mahoney had a goal and an assist and Garrett Munch added a goal. 
Ben Glidden contributed five ground balls and a caused turnover.
 
Jack Sutherland scored two goals and had an assist, while Mike Sudora had two goals for Endicott. Faceoff specialist Derek Yannone won 13 of 16 faceoffs and had a goal and eight ground balls.
 
The teams traded goals in the first quarter. Mahoney put Skidmore up 1-0 at 13:36 when he fired one in from 20 yards out. Nick Arcadipane's man-up goal at 6:44 tied it 1-1.  Megnia put the Thoroughbreds back in front at 5:09 when he found daylight on the near side from 
Ryan Madalone.
 
The Gulls ran off three straight goals before Munch found the back of the net at the buzzer to cut it to 4-3 after the first quarter.
 
Endicott put together a 5-0 run that spanned the second and third quarters to open it up 9-3. Megnia stopped the spree with his second of the game from way out on the right side at 9:03. The Gulls tacked on two more for the 11-4 final.
 
Endicott outshot Skidomre 49-33 and had a slight 32-27 ground ball advantage. Skidmore forced 23 Gull turnovers.
 
Tim Rahill had 13 saves for the Thoroughbreds, while Patrick Dean stopped 13 for Endicott.
 
Skidmore returns to action at home Monday at 2 p.m. with a nonconference game against Curry College.
