SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Senior attack
Cas Szwajkowski became Skidmore's all-time leader in goals and goals scored in a game, leading the 24
th-ranked Skidmore College women's lacrosse team to a 16-10 victory over RIT, in Liberty League action at Wachenheim Field on a windy Saturday afternoon.

th in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national rankings, improves to 5-2 (2-1 Liberty League) with the victory. RIT falls to 3-4 (1-3).
Szwajkowski entered the contest needing just five goals to tie the all-time goals mark of 189, set by
Tyler Phillips '17. With the record in range, Szwajkowski went on the attack, scoring early and often to give Skidmore an early advantage. The senior tied the record with 3:32 left in the first half, as the Thoroughbreds took an 8-5 lead. She would break the record early in the second half, as she sunk in the free position attempt just 53 seconds in.
Szwajkowski finished the game with nine goals, tying a program record set by Lloyd Falconer in 1993 and Lindsay Stavola in 2011. She also went 6-for-6 in free position shots, adding three caused turnovers, three draw controls, and three ground balls. She now has 193 career goals.
Skidmore jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals by Szwajkowski,
Anna Boogaerts, and
Amanda Orvis, before RIT struck back with three of their own. Both teams traded goals from there, with an RIT goal by Alanna Fallone tying the game at five at the 10:19 mark. The Skidmore defense held RIT in check from there, as the offense erupted with a 6-0 run to put some distance between the two teams. Szwajkowski and
Lilla Seymour shared the first four goals of the run, and
Zoe Rafalowski-Houseman finished the first half with a goal. Szwajkowski scored the aforementioned record-breaking goal to cap the run, as Skidmore led 11-5.
RIT scored twice to reduce the deficit to 11-7 on goals by Krystyna Sterio and Megan Donahue, but that was as close as the Tigers would get. Szwajkowski and
Emily Hirsch got the Thoroughbred lead back up to six (13-7), and both teams traded goals to end the game.
Seymour scored twice to go along with Szwajkowski's nine goals. Orvis and Rafalowski-Houseman each tallied two points, via a goal and assist. Boogaerts, Hirsch, and
Grace Connerty also tallied goals, with Hirsch adding a team-high six draw controls. LaBeau added an assist.
Caroline Kenlon made a trio of great saves on free position attempts to keep the Tigers at bay. She ended with nine saves for her fifth victory of the season.
Fallone led RIT with three goals. Donahue, Sterio, and Steph Darrell each added two apiece. Ariana Waldorf tallied 11 saves in the effort.
Skidmore begins a three-game road trip, jumping out of league play to visit Hamilton on Thursday, at 5 p.m.
