BABSON PARK, Mass.— Babson College outscored Skidmore College 6-1 in the second quarter on the way to a 15-9 win over the Thoroughbreds Saturday afternoon.

It was the season opener for Skidmore (0-1), while the Beavers are off to a 2-0 start.

Will Lukas and
Garrett Munck, and
Alex Miller all scored twice for the Thoroughbreds. Miller also contributed nine ground balls and two caused turnovers,
Logan Hart recorded four caused turnovers, and Lukas led all players with three assists.

For Babson, Samuel Mishkind and Owen Allen each scored four goals.

Tied at 2-2 after one quarter, Babson outscored Skidmore 6-1 in the second. Ryan Donovan notched his first career goal at 13:35, Niall Dillon followed to make it 4-2 less than a minute later, and Mishkind scored twice to give the Beavers a 6-2 advantage at the 4:08 mark.
Eric Megnia stopped the run momentarily, but Mason O'Hanlon  and Allen scored over the final 41 seconds of the stanza to make it 8-3 at the break.

Babson extended the lead to 10-4 before
Hudson Miller (Red Hook, N.Y.) struck back less than two minutes later with his first career goal as part of a three-goal run in 90 seconds that helped Skidmore cut its deficit to 10-7 with 8:40 to go in the period.Â

Babson scored five straight to push the lead back to 15-7 on the way to the 15-9 final.

Tim Rahill stopped 13 shots for the Thoroughbreds.

Skidmore returns to action with its home opener on Wednesday against while Skidmore takes on Clark University at 6 p.m.
