SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team held strong against #2 Tufts University in a 66-43 loss to the Jumbos Tuesday evening at the Williamson Sports Center.

The Thoroughbreds move to 2-4 while Tufts is a perfect 5-0.

Clare Driscoll and
Kate McCarney combined for 35 points for Skidmore. Driscoll scored a career high 18 points, shooting 53.8% from the field and 50% from behind the arc, while adding one block and three rebounds. McCarney put 17 points on the board and two assists.
Toyin Koleoso once again led the Thoroughbreds on the boards with nine rebound and tallied two steals.

Cailin Harrington and Erica DeCandido both scored 19 on the evening for the Jumbos. DeCandido was also a leader in the paint along with Sadie Otley who both pulled in eight rebounds.

After a tough first half shooting performance (18.8%), the Thoroughbreds found their groove and shot 44% in the second half, playing Tufts even. Skidmore forced 12 Jumbo turnovers in the second half.

The Thoroughbreds return home to the Williamson Sports Center next weekend for their first round of Liberty League action against William Smith on Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m.
