SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Middlebury College overcame a strong Skidmore start on the way to a 74-59 loss in women's basketball action at the Williamson Sports Center Saturday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds move to 2-3 while the Panthers are unbeaten at 3-0.

Three Skidmore players scored double digits.
Jessica Centore led with 15 points. Centore also pulled down five rebounds and tallied three assists.
Kate McCarney was close behind with an additional 14 points and four rebounds, while
Sydney Tsutsui added 11 points and two steals.
Toyin Koleoso did well in the paint, finishing the afternoon with 12 rebounds and one steal.

Betsy Knox led the Panthers with a double-double, scoring 23 points and hauling in 12 rebounds. She was one of four Panthers that scored in the double digits. Dianna Palli had 17 points and six rebounds, while Kira Waldman added 16 points and six rebounds. Maya Davis gave the Panthers an additional 10 points.

The Thoroughbreds came out hot in the first half, shooting 54.5% from beyond the arc. Skidmore led 23-20 with 6:27 to play in the second quarter before the Panthers used a 13-5 run to lead 33-28 at the break. Despite Centore adding 10 of her points in the second half, fouls and a strong shooting performance by Middlebury sealed the 74-59 victory.

Skidmore returns to the Williamson Sports Center Tuesday at 5 p.m. for a non-conference match against #2 Tufts University.
