Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Thoroughbreds tie #13 RPI, 1-1

SARATIGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – In an action-packed game, the Skidmore College men's soccer team ended the day in a 1-1 tie against #13 RPI, in Liberty League action at Wachenheim Field Saturday afternoon.

Skidmore is 5-4-3 (1-2-1 Liberty), while RPI moves to 11-1-1 (4-0).

David Braman scored Skidmore's only goal in 84th minute of the game. Connor Aitken had a beautiful shot opportunity off of a Skidmore corner that was blocked. Braman picked up the rebound right in front of the keeper and drilled it into the back of the net to put Skidmore up 1-0 with five minutes remaining in the game.

Shortly after, RPI sent the game into overtime in the 87th minute when Dylan Confair shot a one timer just inside box off of an assist by Josh Gaudiano. The ball was fired to the lower right corner and slid just out of the reach of a diving Bosch.

The first overtime period was relatively quiet as both teams fought to score. With about a minute left in the first OT RPI had a restart opportunity that led to a near goal right outside the box. Bosch was quick to make the save in the right corner to keep RPI from scoring.

The second overtime favored Skidmore more as they had two shots on goal and two corner kick opportunities, but they couldn't seem to break the barrier. The game ended in a 1-1 tie after a shot by Kyle Barrett was barely saved by Brezak.

Braman and Ted Roach led the team with two shots on goal each. Meanwhile, goalie Sebastian Bosch finished the day off with four saves.

Gaudiano led the RPI with two shots on goal, while goalie Luke Brezak tallied six saves in the net for the Engineers.

Skidmore led with seven shots on goal and a total of 14 shots for the game, but RPI far outnumbered Skidmore with a total of 10 corners.

Skidmore returns to Wachenheim Field on October 18th at 4pm for more Liberty League action against RIT.
