TROY, N.Y. – An impressive season for sophomore guard
Noah Meren of the Skidmore College men's basketball team continues, as he has been named the Liberty League's Performer of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league announced on Monday, Jan. 21.
Meren averaged 25.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game for the Thoroughbreds, who went 2-1 this past week. Meren shot 51 percent from the field (24-for-47) in the three games. He scored 21 points at Vassar last week, then surpassed that with a 31-point showing on Friday against Bard, his second 30+ point game of the season. He finished the week with 24 points and seven rebounds on Saturday vs. Ithaca.
Meren continues to lead the league in scoring at 22.1 points per game. He also leads the team with 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.
Skidmore (10-6, 8-2 Liberty League) fell at Vassar by a 77-65 score, then got back on track with weekend wins against Bard (77-66) and Ithaca (75-66). The Thoroughbreds will entertain their Capital Region foes this upcoming weekend, hosting Union and RPI at the Williamson Sports Center.
