SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team earned its first Liberty League victory of the season, fighting through the rain to defeat Clarkson, 1-0 at Wachenheim Field Tuesday evening.
Skidmore moves back over .500 at 4-3 overall, and are an even 1-1 in league action. Clarkson drops to 4-4-1 overall and 0-2 in league play.

th minute. On Skidmore's first opportunity at net, senior
Emily Mendes launched a perfectly placed diagonal through ball that found senior
Courtney Shaw on the right wing. Shaw took a low shot to the left corner of net that Clarkson goalie Elyse Green just got her hands off. A Clarkson clearance a few seconds later found sophomore
Yasmine Boukari from 30 yards out on the left wing, who made a dribble move and launched a high direct shot into the right corner of the net, past a leaping Green.
Skidmore would turn up the pressure on the Clarkson defense, but were unable to get another goal in before the half. The Thoroughbreds would outscore the Golden Knights by an impressive 13-2 margin.
The second half saw Clarkson work to get more chances at net. In the 61
st minute, the Golden Knights had its best chance to score, but senior Pheobe Martell-Crawford made a key stop at the goal line, parrying away a certain Alicia Bushey shot. From there, Skidmore would outshoot Clarkson 8-0 in the final 29:14 to end the contest.

Ava Keller earned her first collegiate clean sheet and victory in net, making three saves in 90 minutes. The Thoroughbreds outshot Clarkson by a 23-4 margin, including a 13-3 margin in shots on goal.
The Thoroughbreds will finish its four-game home stand on Saturday, hosting RPI at Wachenheim Field at 3 p.m.
