Melissa Haas came off the bench to score her first collegiate goal to give Skidmore a 1-0 win over Rensselaer in Liberty League women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

The win moves the Thoroughbreds (5-3, 2-1 Liberty League) into a second place tie in Liberty League standings with Ithaca College. The Engineers are 4-5 and 1-1.

Courtney Shaw had a powerful cross to Haas who headed through traffic for the game's lone goal at 25:01.

The teams traded chances the rest of the way. RPI nearly got the equalizer in the 71
nd minute when Emily Kaplan had a partial breakaway with one defender on her. She got away entering the box, but Skidmore goalie
Ava Keller came out to stuff the shot.

The Thoroughbreds had a 15-10 shot and 5-3 corner advantage. Keller had five saves for her second straight shutout. Joey Lyons stopped seven shots for the Engineers.
